Currently, Ukraine has problems with mobilization due to the distrust of the population and fear. It is necessary to change the training systems of conscripts for doing this.

This was stated by the commander of the Third Assault Brigade, Andriy Biletskyi, in an interview with "Ukrainska Pravda".

What is wrong with mobilization in Ukraine

The military believes that, firstly, the issue is not in the actions of the TRC, although sometimes they "go overboard", but in the distrust of people. According to him, almost all Ukrainians have acquaintances or relatives in the army, and there are many stories about improper training.

"If people understand that they will end up in a combat training center, where they will not be engaged in combat training, where the number of fired bullets is a third, and sometimes even less than the Soviet standard for a young soldier's course, where they understand that next they will end up with the same incompetent sergeant, who was simply pointed at and decided that he would be a sergeant, and this will be his master of life and death, then this is not very motivational," Biletskyi shared.

According to him, people are afraid of the unknown. When men understand that they are at zero, but do not know anything and do not know how, and they have to learn already during the first combat missions.

At the same time, the commander added that everyone is scared, even super professionals. However, it is one thing when a person really understands what will happen, what he needs to do to both complete the task and survive on the battlefield, and another — when a person is simply afraid.

How to fix this problem

Andriy Biletskyi believes that it is necessary to train recruits qualitatively and professionally, because people become professionals exceptionally by training.

"Some people have talent, some have less of it. But any person can become a strong middling, competent enough, who could perform basic infantry tasks," the military man noted.

He also emphasized that it is urgent to resolve the issue of training junior officers and change the approach to basic combined-arms training.

It should be reminded, that recently the FT edition wrote about the mobilization reserve of Ukraine. The number of people who can still be called up to the army exceeds three million.

At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that the duration of training in the centers of the Armed Forces has been increased. More hours have been added to the theoretical and practical part for the military personnel.
